Richard E Barksdale, a resident of Denham Springs, passed away at his home peacefully early Saturday, October 24, 2020 at the age of 60. Richard is survived by Christy Gaudin, his children Blake and Bobbi Barksdale, Brittney Barksdale Leggett, Tabitha Barksdale and Chuck Payne, and Victoria (Scooby) Barksdale. His grandchildren Bradlee Leggett, Jase Barksdale, Bryce Leggett, Breanna Leggett, Jaden Barksdale, Blakely Barksdale, and numerous other loving grandchildren. His siblings Jim and Lisa Barksdale, Kay and Billy Byrd, and many many other friends he loved and considered family as well. He is preceded in death by his parents James and Myrtle Barksdale, his son in law Chris Leggett. Richard enjoyed entertaining with his music and voice. He also loved spending every day he could at his camp fishing. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 beginning at 12:00pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel at 3:00pm. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Miller, Ronnie Miller, Cecil Street, Chuck Payne, Mike Smith, Billy Harris, Johnny Joles, Billy Byrd, Ron Poitra, Tommy Wheat, and Darin Tyler.
