A man may never know the full impact his life has, and this is especially true of a teacher. Roger spent 30+ years as a welding teacher, 20 at his alma mater Istrouma High School before moving to teach at Central High School. He retired from education in 2018, and selflessly came back to substitute in 2020. Roger was a talented craftsman who loved to work with both wood and metal, and passed down his love and skill to many students throughout the years. He loved being outdoors, spending much of his free time fishing or working in his yard, especially tending to his camellia trees. He was a proud father, but nothing made him prouder than being a grandfather to his four grandsons.
Services will be held at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, on Tuesday, December 22, with visitation beginning at 8:00am followed by service at 10:00am conducted Bro. Alan Mack Burial will follow at Carson Springs Cemetery in Walthall County, MS at 1:30pm. The family would like to express thanks to the Staff at St. Joseph Carpenter’s House, Dr. McCanless and his staff, and Dr. Lauve, and the staff of Baton General Bluebonnet for your kind and compassionate care.
