Louis Howard Beavers

On Saturday, December 26, 2020, Louis Howard Beavers, 58, passed from his earthly home to walk the streets of gold.  Even though a failing heart took him away, his loving heart left many fond memories that live on within each of us.  He shared his bright smile and humor with everyone he met, and changed our lives forever.

Louis is survived by the love of his life, Marilyn Yvonne Boney Beavers, children:  Brannon Anders (Brittany), Brant Beavers, Brittni Hodges (Joey), and Brandi Beavers Mosher (Josh), grandchildren:  Destiny, Journey, Braxton, Harper, Christian, Chance, Braidon, Avry, and Raelin.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who would stop what he was doing to help them with anything.  If he said he would be there, you could count on it.  His family was his most prized possession, and he defended each of them with all his heart.  His love for his wife was unfounded, and he was determined to provide all the provisions for her in his power.  No matter the size of the problem, he was quick to respond with a solution and a smile.

Louis leaves behind a legacy of humor and quick wit, often resulting in a smiling face and flushed cheeks.  He wanted everyone to understand what he was saying.  We know this because he frequently asked, “You know what I’m sayin’?”  He was patient, kind, and a risk taker, making sure he taught his children to drive – a stick shift – up a hill – stopping halfway to move forward without rolling back.  He also taught them to hunt, or at least how to fall asleep in a deer blind in freezing temperatures.  How does one do this?!?

He was interested in helping anyone, or maybe he was just wanting to tell you how to do something.  He often looked at you and said, “Show me what you workin’ with.”.  He loved to fish and camp, and recently went camping with his children, grandchildren, and “the bears”.  The grandchildren were sure the bears were there – all night long…..

He never gave up on anything, regularly stating it would work better or he would do it differently “the next time”.  Of course, he was also fond of doing things “tomorrow”, since that always gave him another day.  However, there were some things he couldn’t wait to do, and that was to give with a smile.  Like the time he asked one of his daughters to come see the new car.  Thinking it was another car for her brother, she thought, “Really?” and stepped outside to see a new white anniversary edition 2004 Ford Mustang.   Much to her surprise, he grinned real big and handed her the keys, then said “Now it’s yours (for graduating). I’m hungry, so go get me 20 tacos.”  Both sisters enjoyed the ride in the new car, with smiles on their faces.  And the license plate?  It read ‘OWEUDAD’.  We can all relate to that…..

Louis enjoyed good food (including those tacos), great conversation, and riding his motorcycle.  One thing is for sure, he loved life and wanted everyone to be happy.  If you find yourself feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stressed, remember his most often given advice…. “Easy…. Easy now”…..

A private service is scheduled for 5 p.m. on December 29, 2020 at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.
