Frances Colleen Brooks Chaney

October 14, 1939 – December 28, 2020

Frances Colleen Brooks Chaney went to be with our Lord on Monday December 28, 2020 at the age of 81. Colleen was born in a coal mining camp in Blackstar, KY on Oct 14, 1939. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister and loyal friend. She loved family gatherings and any excuse for a party. She enjoyed going to concerts, festivals and any events that included music. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing especially with her sisters. She was a secretary in the Lab at OLOL for 17 years and in addition worked as an operator in the field of telephone answering service. She is survived by her daughter Ellen Chaney, sister Sharon and husband Terry Sims, brother Roy and wife Pat Brooks and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by parents Roy and Bertie Brooks, sisters Bobbie Brooks, Alese Gordon, Wanda “Cookie” Mayeaux, Janeen Gough and Judy Duke. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
