Thomas Wayne Hudson

June 29, 1940 ~ January 7, 2021

Thomas W. Hudson, 80 of Denham Springs, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at The Butterfly Wing Unit of the Baton Rouge General.

He was born on June 29, 1940 in Mobile, Alabama and was the son of the late Waymon Thomas (WT) and Annie Elizabeth Hudson.

Tom was married to Donna Hudson and they celebrated 52 years of marriage on March 14, 2020.  He is survived by his daughter Michelle (Tommy) Byers of Denham Springs, LA, son Tim (Chetta) Hudson of Prairieville, LA, grandchildren, Haley Hudson of Hammond, LA, Blair Byers of Baton Rouge, LA, Mary Grace Byers of Baton Rouge, LA, Hudson Byers of Denham Springs, LA, Kendall Hudson of Walker, LA, Lauren Brown of Prairieville, LA, Londyn Brown of Prairieville, LA, one great grandchild on the way Lola Rose Zumo, one sister Karen (John) McDougal of Mobile, AL, one brother Johnny (Pam) Hudson of Mentone, AL, nieces, nephews and many friends.  Tom graduated from Vigor High School in 1958.  After high school he enlisted in the military and served 4 years in the Air Force in Nebraska.  He then went to work with his father in the family real estate company after which he moved into a career in insurance.  He was also a Mason.  He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, working in the yard, lounging by the pool or at the beach. Often enjoyed listening to some oldies or rhythm & blues music, grilling, washing/waxing his cars and a good afternoon thunderstorm. Always looked forward to having a good meal, watching purple martins fly and magnificent hummingbirds. A favorite pastime was reading a good book on history especially airplanes of WWII and classic automobiles of the fifties. Spending Sunday’s at church.

Services will be held at Seale Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, visitation will be 12:00 – 2:00 pm with memorial service at 2:00 pm.  Burial service will be held on Thursday, January 14, 20201 at 2:30 pm at Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spanish Fort, AL.  Honorary pallbearers, Tim Hudson, Tommy Byers, Hudson Byers, Clark Hudson, Cory Hudson, Davis Hudson, Rusty Lomax and Preston Lomax.  Memorial donations may be made in Thomas W. Hudson’s name to the Butterfly Wing Hospice of Baton Rouge.
