Justin Allen “Skate” Smitherman, 32, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021 at his home in Springfield, LA. He first and foremost loved his Lord and his country. Justin loved to be outdoors and his true passion was fishing. He was a true friend and always took up for the underdog. He loved his family unconditionally and was a wonderful son and brother. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him. He is survived by his parents, Bobbie Allen and Lou Anne Harris Smitherman; brother, Jesse Wade Smitherman; nephew, Ransom Wade Smitherman; aunts and uncles, John and Susan Belgard, Patrick and Amelia Harris, Roger and Joan Smitherman, Buddy Wayne Smitherman, and Shirley Smitherman; maternal grandparents, Arthur James and Lou Kimble Harris; as well as numerous cousins. Justin had a special place in his heart for Thomas and Addie Meade. He was preceded in death by his uncle, John Stephen Harris; paternal grandparents, Robert L. and Emily A. Smitherman; and cousins, Shannon Lay Smitherman and Maisy Rae Belgard. Visitation will be held at The Oaks Church, Denham Springs, Wednesday, January 20, from 10 a.m. until service at 12 p.m. with burial following at Evergreen Memorial Park.     This still hurts me alot..but mostly for his family whom most treated me like a son..I struggle too at times..and it’s no easier with him gone..he was and amazing friend and brother to me..much love to all.
