Helen Gurley Wimberly

August 30, 1939 ~ January 30, 2021

Helen Gurley Davis “Tia “ Wimberly passed away January 30, 2021 at the Carpenter House in Baton Rouge LA after a sudden illness.  She was 81 and a resident of Walker LA.  She was a Navy brat born in San Diego.  She was retired from General Adjustment Bureau.   She was a horsewoman and traveled extensively with her husband, Gary, participating in trail rides and wagon trains.  They were also devoted LSU Tiger fans.   Tia is survived by her son, Alden Thomasson and wife, Shana, step children Debra Stewart and husband, Morris, Terry June Wimberly Bordelon and husband, Barry, Michael Wimberly and wife, Ann, brothers, Alden C. Davis, Royce P. Davis and wife, Josee, sisters in law, Sue Wimberly and Shirley Womack, grandchildren, Allen Thomasson and wife, Brittney, Marshall Thomasson and fiancé, Skylar Elmore, Milla Thomasson, Kimber Thomasson, Derick Stewart, Travis Stewart, Brock Caldwell, Brandon Caldwell and wife Ginny and Haleigh Wimberly and 10 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Gary Wimberly and parents Capt. Royce P. Davis and Aurora Gurley Davis.  Private services will be at Legion Memorial Cemetery in Newellton LA.
