It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James (Butch) M. Hicks III, age 72, of Denham Springs, LA. He fought a good fight but lost his battle to emphysema on February 10, 2021. He was from Crowley, LA. He was a retired welder for Pipe Trades Local #62 for 47 years. He was a Merchant Marine during the Vietnam War. He was very loyal to his country, his union, & his wife. He loved being outside and fishing during his spare time. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Susan Butler Hicks; daughter, April Hicks Haydel (Pierre); stepdaughter, Trisha Whiddon
DeMars(Gerald); sons, James B. Hicks (Amy) and Donovan Hicks (Mary); grandkids, Nicholas Moreau, Zachary Moreau, Jilliyn DeMars, Addisyn DeMars, Ambar Oakley, Pierre Haydel Jr, Xavier Foster, Josie Spell, Maggie Spell, Jayme Richardson, Kala Hicks, Elizabeth Namiotko, Donovan Hicks Jr, Michael Cronenwett, Joshua Cronenwett and numerous great grandkids. He is preceded in death by his father, James M. Hicks; mother, Madge Kessinger;brother, Donovan Hicks;stepson, Christopher Dale Whiddon. His body, per his request, is being donated to science. There may be
