Johnnie Lou Sullivan Wesley, a resident of Central, La gained her angel wings on Friday, February 12, 2021, at the age of 85. The daughter of John and Lydia (Thompson) Sullivan she was born March 23, 1935. Johnnie attended Denham Springs High School. She was a devoted mother of 7 children and deeply loved by her family and friends. She will be remembered for her passionate love of God, her country, the state of New Mexico, race horses, and birds. Johnnie attended Providence Baptist Church in Central, La. When asked recently if she could do life over what would she do, she said, “I would be a teacher because I love helping kids.” She was passionate about children and had a unique dedication to all children. Johnnie was a devoted homemaker raising her family and volunteering in their school. In her later years she worked and retired from Lane Memorial Hospital. The last three months were spent living life to the fullest. She was surrounded by loving family, good food, playing scrabble, and watching the birds and squirrels at her feeder. Johnnie is preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter Sharon Deann Wesley, infant brother James Timothy Sullivan, and infant grandson Dustin Daigre. She is survived by her children and their spouses Mark Wesley, Patricia Beach, Matt Wesley, Rhonda and Ashton Ancar, Emile and Bonnie Wesley, and Jennifer Wesley. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren Jeremy and Christine Wesley, Joshua and Maria Wesley, Heather Shaver, Kaci and Chris Metzger, Samuel A. Wesley, Sharon Gautreau, Luke Wesley, Anna Waters, Jonathan Daigre, Jennifer Beach, Samantha Beach, Katie Beach. She will be fondly remembered by her great-grandchildren Moriah, Alexis, Eden, Brynlee, and John Wesley, Philip and Emilia Wesley, Judson, Micah, and Aurelia Shaver, Kora and Kiah Metzger, Kayleigh Wesley, Noah Gautreau, Ethan and Liam Waters, Darren Foster, Dylan Foster, Geneva Lubecke, Jessica Foster, Bradley Foster, Michelle Foster, Benjamine Sawaya, Blaise Sawaya; step-grandchildren: Lenny Degreenia, Tiffany Meyers, Stephanie Toney; Step-great-grandchildren: Jaylan Tullier and Madison Waters. Johnnie also had many family and friends that she made a positive influence in their lives. Johnnie is also survived by loving siblings and their spouses: Lucille and Clarence Joe O’Neal, Bob and Nancy Sullivan, Ann Sullivan, Joan Sullivan, and Sue Sullivan. Many thanks to Emile and Bonnie Wesley for the great care they provided for Mom for many years. Thanks to the Staff at Lane RMC and BRGH who gave great care the past weeks. Also, thank you to the Staff at Lane Senior Care facility during her brief stay. A memorial service is pending and will be observed after her son recovers from Covid-19. She will be missed by many.
