Leon William Pierson, Sr.

September 1, 1933 – February 17, 2021

Leon William Pierson, Sr went home to be with the 2 great loves of his life, Jesus and his wife of 69 years, on February 16, 2021. He was born on September 1, 1933 in Ascension Parish and resided in the town of Livingston. He was a faithful husband, loving father and grandfather who proudly served his country in the Korean war. He devoted his life to Christ as a pastor, mentor, minister of the gospel and member of Faith Apostolic Church in Holden, LA. He is survived by his daughters, Brenda Rogers and husband Mark, Shirley Alvear and husband David, Jonice Morphet and husband Jack; son Leon Pierson, Jr and wife Theresa; Sister, Rose Drury; Brother, Samuel Pierson; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews and Madison Johnson with whom he shared a special bond. Visitation will be held at Faith Apostolic Church, in Holden on Saturday, February 20, 2021 from 5 pm until 8 pm. Visitation resumes at the church on Sunday, February 21, 2021 from 9 am until Celebration of Life Service at 11 am, conducted by Rev. Marlin Arceneaux. Burial will follow in Twin Pines Cemetery. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Beulah Pierson; daughter, Hazel Pierson; great granddaughter, Michelle Hoyt; parents, Edward and Sierra Pierson, 8 brothers and 2 sisters.
