Fern S. Duhon

October 8, 1945 ~ March 15, 2021

Fern S. Duhon, 75, passed away peacefully March 15, 2021 at 2:40 PM. She was born in Morton, Washington to Frank and Shirley Selchert. She worked many years in the Live Oak district helping to feed the kids in school. She retired in 2012 from South Live Oak Elementary. Fern loved to work in her flower gardens, take long walks, and visiting with anyone she would come in contact with. She is survived by her children, Deloy Duhon (Mike Maher), Debi Hinchcliff (Joey Hinchcliff); five grandchildren, Kayla, Sohn, Alec, Jamie, and Brennan; four great-grandchildren, Bryce, Emma, Kimber, and Ethan; brother, Norman Selchert (Arlene); two sisters, Lois Strand and Laura Vandal; a very beloved friend, Sheryl Rainey, and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Duhon; her parents, Frank and Shirley Selchert; and her sister, Verna Sokolowski. A gathering to honor, remember, and celebrate her life will be held Thursday, March 25, at 5 p.m., at Live Oak Baptist Church, Denham Springs.
