Karmin Leigh Smith
April 3, 1989 ~ March 17, 2021
KarminĀ Leigh Smith passed away peacefully with her mother, Karen Conrad, by her side on March 17,2021 at 31. Karmin was a loving, giving, witty, happy, hardworking mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin and friend. Everyone who had the pleasure to meet her is saddened because she never met a stranger. When she entered a room, there was a light that shown from her soul, straight out through her eyes and an enthusiasm that would be hard to surpass. We would like to send a special thank you to Richard and Terri Brown who took Karmin in, gave her a choice at sober living, a job that she loved and was very proud of and then went above and beyond. It is greatly appreciated. Karmin touched many lives both here and in Monroe and we hope her story touches even more. For over 9 months she successfully fought against the cunning, baffling and powerful foe that is addiction. We had one of the best Thanksgivings and Christmas of all of our lives, especially her 3 beautiful children Trevor, Keira and Karli Gautreaux. They have a storybook of good memories to remind them that their mother loved and adored them and she will be with them always in spirit, watching over their lives. She is also survived by her siblings Ashleigh Smith, Devan Guidry, Jesse Gisner, (Caleb), Jacob Smith, (Brooklynn), Trey Orillion, BeIna Smith and Richard Smith Jr. Grandparents Betty Stanley and Wayne and Judy Conrad. She had many aunt, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews she adored as well as her “ride and die”/Best Friend/Cousin Brittany Kennard, her children’s father Timothy Gautreaux, childrens “Nanna” Elonda Green and her companion Lane McNeely. A Celebration of Karmins Life will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 1pm at Christ Community Church in Denham Springs 26574 Juban Road. All are invited to come and share with us your experience in knowing her as we share ours. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made for Karmins 3 children c/o Karen Conrad.
