Melvin Dale Doolittle

January 14, 1948 – April 18, 2021

Melvin Dale Doolittle, a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend went to his eternal home on Sunday, April 18, 2021, at the age of 73. Melvin loved woodworking, playing his guitar, drinking coffee and spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren. In recent years dads favorite scripture was “This is the day that God hath made let us rejoice and be glad in it”. He would get up each morning and step out to the edge of his porch which faced the rising sun and say his scripture and thank the Lord that he could see, walk and talk. He is survived by his fiancé Lana Johnson; children, Missy Hosner, Marita Gentry and husband Brent, Eric Doolittle and wife Diane, and Charles Doolittle and wife Susan; grandchildren, Jackie, Julie, Timothy and wife Tiffany, April and husband Aaron, Mark, and Loxley; great-grandchildren, Kenly, Little T, Kye, Emma and Taten; brother, Nelson Doolittle and wife Genece; sister, Sherrill Creek and husband Bob; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Freda Elaine Laub Doolittle; parents, Melvin and Patsy Taylor Doolittle.  Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs, LA on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.  Visitation will continue at Oak Grove Church of God, 23174 LA-40, Loranger, LA 70446, on Thursday, April 22, 2021 from 10 a.m. until Funeral Service at 11 a.m.  Interment will follow in the Church cemetery.
