On Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 11:45p.m. Charles D. (Chuck) Willis slipped away to his heavenly home. His caring, kind, and gentle spirit had completed his journey at the age of 67.
Charles D. (Chuck) Willis was born June 15, 1953 in Birmingham, AL, but spent most of his life residing in Denham Springs, LA. He is survived by his beloved wife, Cheryl Rice Willis; dear daughter and son-in-law, Lois and Philip Bucher; granddaughter, Savannah Bucher; great-grandchildren, Nealon Bucher and Maddix Kennedy; and precious pup, Samie. Chuck is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, H.C. and Vickie Willis, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Horace Clem Willis and Valeria Pauline Gallagher, and stepfather, Bert Mills.
Chuck worked in structural design at Jacobs Engineering for many years. He was a lifetime member of the Harley Owners Group, as he and Cheryl were avid riders in their younger years. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus, and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Chuck enjoyed calligraphy, photography, reading, the arts, and travel. He enjoyed a well-lived life and was loved by many friends and family members. Chuck will be deeply missed by his loved ones, most particularly his loving and devoted wife of over 44 years, Cheryl, to whom he was best known as “Chuckie Baby.”
Honorary Pallbearers are: Andrew Willis, Casey Muller, Brandan Brown, Mark Williams, Jerret Green, Eric Kieper, Philip Bucher, and Andre Ortis.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 3, 2021 from 5:00-7:00p.m. at Seale Funeral Home, 1720 S. Range Ave., Denham Springs, LA. Service will follow at 7:00p.m. officiated by Father Michael Miceli and Deacon Rudy Stahl, with vocalist, Bridget Lieux.
Donations may be made in honor of Charles D. Willis to Our Lady of the Lake Blood Donor Center or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
