Alex Samuel Andrews

Alex Samuel Andrews, resident of Livingston, LA passed away at his home on June 7, 2021 at the age of 91 years.  Alex was a veteran of the Army and served during the Korean War.  He worked at Sears & Roebuck in Baton Rouge for 40+ years.  He was an avid gardener and carpenter.  He loved to travel with his family and was particularly fond of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.  He could always be counted on to provide support to his family and his friends in whatever way was needed.

He is survived by his step-daughter, Doris Green Foster; sister-in-law Mary Baham Andrews; grandchildren Karla Sullivan, Candace Wheat, Cory Sullivan and wife Fonda, Crystal Wilkinson, Donald Green, Jr and wife Theresa, and Derek Green; 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Bennett Andrews; step-son Donald Green Sr; parents John Alfred and Effie Watts Andrews; 6 brothers and 3 sisters.

Pall bearers will be Will Sullivan, Hunter Wilkinson, Chris Wilkinson, Jacob Wilkinson, Logan Green, and Ty Jones.  Honorary pall bearers are Donnie Green, Cory Sullivan, Lamar Picou, Claude Watts and Thomas Andrews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Seale Funeral Home, Livingston from 6:00pm – 9:00pm.  Visitation will resume on Thursday morning at 9:00am.  Pastors Keith Payne and Paul Tylor will conduct funeral services in the funeral home chapel at 1:00pm.  Burial will follow in Gateway Gardens Memorial Park in Livingston, LA.
