“Suzan Cormier Chapman, 70, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, went home to bewith the Lord on June 17, 2021, at home surrounded by family. She wasborn on June 1, 1951 in Gueydan, Louisiana. Sue is survived by herdevoted husband of 50 years, Ken Chapman. She graduated from LouisianaState University in 1973 with a bachelor’s degree in ElementaryEducation and Special Education.Sue lived an inspirational life and brought joy everywhere she went.She was beautiful inside and out, fun-loving, and kind. Her love forJesus was contagious and unwavering. Her favorite roles in her lifewere being a wife, mother and grandmother. Sue will always beremembered by her kids as a mother who loved with her whole heart,laughed often, and put others above herself.She was a beloved teacher for nearly 20 years, 14 of which were as a2nd grade teacher at Victory Academy. She was a devoted member ofVictory Harvest Church for over 45 years. She had the gift ofhospitality and filled her home with warmth and love.Sue will be missed by her husband, Ken; her five children and theirspouses, Aimie and Jason Fountain, Amanda and Kendrick Talbot, Abbyand Mac Devall, Josh and Molly Chapman, and Jacob and Amy Chapman; herten grandchildren; sister, Stella Theriot and husband, Chris; alsosurvived by loving relatives, Vicky and Murry McMillan, Danny andMargaret Chapman, and Dave and Doris Chapman. Suzan was preceded indeath by her parents, Fred and Earline Cormier; sisters, HarrietLeMaire and Loretta Dowd.The family would like to extend a special thanks to the followingpeople for their love and support: Mark and Lori LeBlanc, SharmanRichardson, Toni Smith, Lauren Cranford and Leona Ealouis.Celebration of life will be held Monday, June 21, 2021 at VictoryHarvest Church, 3953 N Flannery Rd, Baton Rouge, LA 70814. Visitationwill be 9:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow atDenham Springs Memorial Cemetery.”
