William “Bill” Lynn Campbell
William (Bill) Lynn Campbell passed away peacefully on November 11, 2020, at the age of 89. He was born in Baker, Louisiana to Albert S. Campbell and Vida (Baker) Campbell. He lived most of his adult life in Denham Springs, Louisiana with his wife, Dixie (Dixon) Campbell. He moved to Alabama in 2015.
Bill graduated from Baker High School in 1949 and then attended Jones County Junior College in Ellisville, Mississippi. He was an athlete and loved sports, especially football. Bill played both high school and college football. After college, he served in the U.S. Army. Bill was employed with Kaiser Aluminum in Baton Rouge, Louisiana for over 40 years. He also worked for LaRoche Chemical after they purchased Kaiser. Bill could fix almost anything and liked working on cars when he was younger. He also enjoyed deer hunting with friends. Bill liked traveling, going on family vacations every summer and a special trip to Africa with his younger sister, Meryal, to celebrate his 75th birthday.
Bill is survived by his daughters Susan Lounsbury (Doug), Kimberly Blankenship (Paul); grandchildren, Lauren Blankenship, Nicholas Lounsbury, and Samantha Lounsbury; many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Dixie (Dixon) Campbell; his parents, Albert and Vida (Baker) Campbell; his siblings, John Campbell, Elaine Gaudin, Elizabeth Jeansonne, and Meryal Ann Smith.
Services will be held on Friday, July 2, at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs, Louisiana, with visitation beginning at 8:30 a.m. and memorial service immediately following at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in the family plot at Roselawn Cemetery in Baton Rouge.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
