Diana Smith Whipple

September 12, 1949 ~ August 20, 2021

Diana Smith Whipple passed away peacefully with her children at her side on Friday, August 20, 2021. She was 71 years old. She was a native of Opelousas and resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  She is survived by her son Michael B. Karr and wife Lori, granddaughter Bailey Karr;  daughter Tiffany Karr and Allen Julian; brothers Roland Smith and wife Mary, Russell Smith and wife Darlene; nieces and nephew: Buffy Thomas, Stephen Smith, Dana Tanner; her beloved dog Sophie, as well as numerous cousins and friends.  She was preceded in death by her father,Bennett Smith, and mother, Mildred Smith Rice. A small, private memorial service will be held. The family would like to thank the dedicated doctors and nurses of the ICU at the Baton Rouge General (Bluebonnet).
