Brian Lee Smith “Smitty”, 52, of Denham Springs, LA, was surrounded by family when he lost his 5 year battle to cancer Monday, September 20, 2021. Brian loved his job of coaching football, working with the young men of his community, and was the proud owner of Lighting Maintenance for 25+ years. He was the current Defensive Coordinator for Denham Springs High School and the former Defensive Coordinator for Live Oak High School. He was a well respected coach and man of Livingston Parish and will be missed by all who knew him. He was survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Smith; children and their spouses, Nicholas Smith (Slade Blanchard), and Brooklyn Smith (Lee Nordyke); father and stepmother, H.L. Smith and Donna; mother, Linda Smith; mother-in-law, Marcy Bordelon; brothers and their spouses, Brad and Gina Smith, and Brett and Danielle Smith; as well as many other family members, friends, and fellow coaches. Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, Thursday, September 23, from 2 p.m. until celebration of his life at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Athletic Associations of Denham Springs , https://osp.osmsinc.com/LivingstonLA/BVModules/ProductTemplates/Bvc2013/Product.aspx?productid=DT005-VAR136 and Live Oak High Schools or to St. Jude’s. By reading this obit you can tell what a great man Brian was. He never gave up and lived his life to the fullest until the end. I pray for comfort and peace for his family knowing he is well and rejoicing in the arms of his savor.
