V.J. Hill

V.J. Hill went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at age 95 in Baton Rouge, La. He was born on May 16, 1926 in Ponchatoula, La. He was a veteran of World War II in the Navy aboard the USS Hector.  He was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church, Baton Rouge, where he served as a deacon for many years.  He was retired from Kleinpeter Dairy.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law Curtis and Pat Hill, Darris and Sharon Hill, Tim Hill, and Lola Hutchinson Hill; grandchildren Jared, Jeremy (Jessica), Josh (Kelli), and Daniel (Callie) Hill, and Johnny (Brandi), and Tommy Dispensire; 13 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Leatrice Clark, Vera McNabb, Joyce Hardy (Glancia); and brother Huey Hill (Gaithel). He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 73 years, Evell Martin Hill, son Derrell Hill, parents Jessie and Evelyn Willie Hill, and sister, Inez Hill Hoover.  Visitation will be at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 from noon until funeral service at 2:00 pm, conducted by Dr. Lewis Richerson.  Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bayou Barbary, La.  The family would like to thank Heritage Manor Nursing home and Life Source Hospice for their loving care.
