Barbara “Bobbie” Riedel, 82, passed away peacefully on 9/25/2021 at Our Lady of the Lake hospital surrounded by her loving family.
A native of Denham Springs, LA and 1956 graduate of Denham Springs High School, Bobbie and her husband of 30 years, Harvey Riedel, traveled the world for several years. After residing in New Jersey throughout the 70’s and early 80’s, Bobbie, Harvey, and their daughter Michelle moved back to her hometown of Denham Springs.
Friends and family of Bobbie may best remember her for her bright smile, warm hugs, stories of her and Harvey’s wonderful adventures around the globe, as well as her involvement in the church. Not only did Bobbie teach Sunday school and organize events, but she also played piano and organ at several churches over the years.
In her later years, Bobbie thrived on fellowship with friends and family. She regularly played Pokeno and Domino’s, was very active in organizing the Class of 1956 high school reunions, loved having lunch with her “Widow’s Group”, and enjoyed joyful outings with her “First Cousin’s Group”.
She is survived by her daughters, Michelle (David) Blazier, Denham Springs, Lori Karch, Toms River, NJ, Julie (Bill) Patskin, Bedminster, NJ, grandsons Ethan, Evan, and EanBlazier, Denham Springs, grandson Nicholas (Kara) Blazier, Texas, granddaughter Kimberly Karch, Toms River, NJ, grandson Roy Karch Jr, Toms River, NJ, grandson Daniel Karch, Toms River, NJ, granddaughter Christina Patskin, Bedminster, NJ and several great grand-children. She is also survived by siblings, Cherry (Jimmy) Hohensee and Walter “Duck” (Heidi) Webb, Bennellon “Bennie” Webb, and her Aunt Carrie Lea “Sugar” Smiley as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Riedel, mother, Rebecca Webb, father, Milton Webb, brothers Julius “JW” Webb, Maurice “Buddy” (Honor Rae) Webb, and Robert “Skippy” Webb.
The family would like to send a thank you to Jana Patrick and Harvest Manor skilled care and a special thank you to the staff of OLOL in the ER and on the 5th floor, as well as Dr. Tran and Rachael for their attentiveness to her end of life care.
Services will be October 8, 2021 at Live Oak Methodist Church in Watson, Louisiana. Visitation 10am – 12pm and the service to follow immediately at 12pm.

Bobbie was such a beautiful person. She always had a warm and loving smile on her face. She will truly be missed by all who knew her, but loving memories of her will live on. Heaven just gained another Angel. We love you Bobbie, and will see you again.
