Shirley Delores Wallace, 72, passed away on October 1, 2021 at Ochsner Hospital as a result of “long term covid” complication.

A native of Baton Rouge and a 1967 graduate of Istroma High School. She became a resident of Denham Springs 1998. She worked for the State of Louisiana for 30 years, from which she retired, and worked for Louisiana Fund Raisers part-time for the last several years. She was an avid gardener producing both summer and fall vegetables that she shared with family and friends.

She is survived by her wife and long time partner and friend, Sue Chaisson; her father, Malcom Wallace, Bogue Chitto, MS; her sisters, Andrea Kay Wallace (Michael) Burgess, Irene Wallace (Barry) Aubin, Denham Springs; nephews, Jason (Nicole) Aubin, Central, Jason Burgess, Baton Rouge; niece, Renee Aubin (Michael) Taylor, Denham Springs; great-niece, Kylie Aubin; and great-nephews, Kayden, Taylor, and Bryce Aubin.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Inez Davis Wallace; grandparents; and numerous aunts and uncles.

The family would like to send a special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Ochsner Hospital for the care and attention provided to Shirley.

Services will be October 4, 2021 at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, Louisiana. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm and the service to follow at 2:00 pm. Burial will be in Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery. Please share your condolences at www.sealefuneral.com.

    To Shirley’s Family,
    I am saddened to hear of Shirley’s passing. What a wonderful, friendly, caring lady she was! She was always smiling and full of fun. I am blessed to have known her. May she rest in peace.

    I am saddened to hear of Shirley’s passing. I worked worked with her for many years and will always remember her smile and laughter. She was such a genuine and caring person. I know she will be greatly missed. My prayers are with you all.

    I’ve literally known Shirley my entire life. I’m saddened and heartbroken to hear of her passing. She was a wonderful person and family friend. My prayers for her loved ones.

    So sorry to hear of the passing of Shirley ! We always enjoyed our time with her and Sue when they went fishing and visited Lake Verrett ! Your family is in our thoughts and prayers !

    Dear Sue and family,

    Brenda and I were heartbroken to hear of Shirley’s passing. Another life lost to COVID. Shirley always had a smile and a way to make a person feel comfortable. I thank all of you for grieving with us over the loss of our parents. I wish we could be there with you now. Please know we are thinking of you and praying for you.
