Geraldine DeBate Berthelot

June 4, 1932 ~ October 17, 2021

Geraldine DeBate Berthelot, a resident of Baton Rouge and native of Head of Island, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at the age of 89. Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, on Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 12:00 pm to 2:15pm. Father Jason Palermo will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 3:00pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church in French Settlement. Interment will follow on the church grounds. She retired from the U.S. Postal Service. She is survived by; two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Gwen Berthelot and Daryl and Ginger Berthelot, two daughters and sons-in-laws; Vickie and Richard Frazier, and Michelle and Mike Rogers, twelve grandchildren; Jessica Hadley, Danielle Brayley, Valerie Starnes, Gina Pennington, Lauren Moulin, Kevin Berthelot, Michael Berthelot, Melissa Webb, Rick Webb, Matthew Rogers, Maddie Rogers, and Megan Rogers, fourteen great-grandchildren; Marissa Bradshaw, Alana McGaughey, Alexis Wallin, Elle Schmal, Keira Schmal, Carter Starnes, Walker Starnes, Jake Pennington, Connor Moulin, Kaitlyn Moulin, Jillian Berthelot, Brennen Bradley, Trent Webb, and Kara Anne Sabin, three great-greatgrandchildren, Chance Bradshaw, Adeline McGaughey, and Kennedy Wallin, brother, Lawrence “Mickey” DeBate, and son-in-law, Danny Williams. She was preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Alice Brignac DeBate, husband, Warren Berthelot, daughter, Kathleen Williams, seven brothers; Robert, Roosevelt, Freddie, Jesse, Dennis, John, and Joseph “Smokey” DeBate, six sisters; Elma Stringer, Alice Laiche, Florence Daily, Lena Matherne, Geneva Lebans, and Beaulah McCullough. Pallbearers will be; Kevin Berthelot, Lance Moulin, Connor Moulin, Mike Rogers, Matthew Rogers, and Dennis Pennington. Michael Berthelot will serve as honorary pallbearer.  She loved her family and always bragged on them. Her favorite pastime was weekly card games with her friends.
