Ruthie Jean Carden Thomas

August 21, 1934 – November 8, 2021

Ruthie passed away Monday, November 8, 2021 in Baton Rouge at the age of 87. She was a native of Arm, MS and a resident of Bogalusa. Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 from 10:00 AM until religious services at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel conducted by Rev. Tommy Shipp and Bro. Patrick MaGee. Burial will be at Plainview Baptist Church Cemetery in Denham Springs. She is survived by her sons, Wylie Ladner (Wanda) and Jesse “Elmo” Ladner (Sandra); sister, Kitty Ann Crummey; brothers, John Everett Carden (Jean) and Joe Will “J.W.” Carden (Debbie); grandchildren, Valerie Smith, Wylie Ladner, Jr., Bo Nettles (Theresa) and Jennifer Barrett (Cody); 7 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Wylie Everette Carden and Clydie Mullins Carden; brothers, William Keith and Oliver Willis Carden; sisters, Mary Nell Carden and Carrie Mae Bessonette. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Bogalusa. Memorial donations may be made to the Mississippi Baptist Children’s Home, 118 Lowe Road, Laurel, MS 39443.
