Simon Antoine Haydel, Jr.

Simon Antoine Haydel, Jr., died Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at the age of 82. A resident of Walker, LA., Simon was born on October 15, 1939, in Donaldsonville, LA.  He was preceded in death by his father, Simon A. Haydel, Sr.; mother, Mary Lise Falcon Haydel; wife, Dolores B. Haydel; son, Steven Anthony Haydel; brother, Robert Louis Haydel; and grandson Shane Joseph Ladner. He is survived by his daughters Jeanne Griffith (Billy), Jamie Collins (Jim), Christina Carter (Mike) and Angele McCullough (Kim); sister, Betty H. Titus; grandchildren Brittany St. Amour, Ashley Nesbit, Amanda Bonvillian, Allison Torres, Emily Davis, Amber Ardoin, Eric Ardoin, Victoria Sowards, Katie Miner, Devyn Hernandez, and Abigail Collins; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; honorary grandson, Jared Whitehead; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He graduated from Holy Cross High School in 1957, and the New Orleans Police Department Academy in 1962. Simon also received a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from Loyola University New Orleans. He served in the Air Force Reserve, and was a member of the Harley Owner’s Group. Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, 1720 South Range Ave., Denham Springs, LA, 70726, on Saturday, December 18, 2021, from 10 a.m., until the memorial service at 11 a.m., in the funeral home chapel. A graveside service will follow at Amite Memorial Gardens in Amite, LA., at 1 p.m. Face masks are strongly encouraged.
