Vickie Ruth Murphy Clayton

September 29, 1947 ~ December 13, 2021

Vickie Ruth Murphy was born on September 29, 1947 in Denham Springs, LA to parents James and Eudice Murphy. She entered into glory on December 13, 2021 at the age of 74, surrounded by her family. Visitation and Memorial Service will be held at Gray’s Creek Baptist Church on Thursday, December 16, 2021. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service at 1 p.m. Graveside service will follow at Felder Cemetery. Vickie is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Bill Clayton;  sons, Billy (Theresa) and John; grandchildren, Brant (Sydnee), Brittany (Brandon), Stormi (Nick), Matthew, Lakon (Taylor), and Lacye (JerrelL); 10 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Wesley, all of whom she loved dearly. Vickie is now rejoicing in heaven with her parents, James Victor and EuDice Murphy; brother, James D Murphy; her beloved aunt, Ester Shelton; and sister-in-law, Rena Murphy. Brant Clayton, Nicholas Gillespie, Matthew Clayton, Jerrell Grice, Taylor Adams, and Alvin Fairburn will serve as Pallbearers, with Brandon Brown and Sawyer Clayton as alternates. Honorary Pallbearers include Wilbur Kelly, Daryl Cambre, Tommy Hayes, and Jerry Vaughn. Vickie dedicated her life to serving the Lord and loving her family. She was a devoted member of Gray’s Creek Baptist Church all of her life. The family is beyond grateful to the Gray’s Creek congregation for their outpouring of love, support, and the many prayers they have prayed for her healing. Vickie’s heart felt prayer was that all, especially those she loved the most, her family, would come to know the Lord and their names be written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. The family also wishes to express gratitude to Superior Home Health, Ochsner Medical Center, Ashley, Chris, and Krista of Superior Home Health, and everyone who has prayed for Vickie and reached out in the trying time.
