Eileen Mary Oster

Eileen Mary Oster, 78, died March 2, 2022, in Baton Rouge, LA. Born March 21, 1943, she was a native of New Orleans and moved to Baton Rouge where she continued to work for Piccadilly Corporation before retiring. Eileen was a graduate of Francis T. Nicholls High School. She enjoyed photographing wildlife, spending time with her family, and going on any type of vacation. In 2002, she won the Louisiana Calendar Photo Contest for the Louisiana Welcome Center’s distribution. Her photos can be seen on , Shutterfly, Picfare, as well as other sites. She enjoyed traveling in the 18-wheeler with her wife. They also enjoyed cruises and deep-sea fishing in Key West. She was an animal rescuer and loved all her pets with deep devotion. Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, William Simon and Lucille M (Douglas) Mengel of New Orleans; and brother, Charles Mengel of Baton Rouge; and sister-in-law Debbie Douglas. She is survived by her beloved wife, Suz Ratkovcic of Baton Rouge; 2 sons, Leslie J. Oster III of Ocala, FL, and Neil D. Oster, of Marianna, Fl; granddaughters, Jessica A. Oster of Bellview, FL, Cara M (Mathew) Landry of Pearl River, LA, and Ashley Oster of Metairie, LA; grandson, Leslie J. Oster IV of Ocala, FL; brothers, William Douglas and Wayne S. Mengel; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her beloved dogs, Shorty and CoCo. There will be a celebration of her Eileen’s life in Houma, LA, April 17, 2022.
