Harry “Rusty” Price, Jr. 66, of Denham Springs, Louisiana, a BREC employee at Farr Park Equestrian Center, died Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Ochsner Foundation Hospital Main Campus in Jefferson, LA.

Rusty was born on September 18, 1955 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Harry F. Price, Sr. and Doris Browning Price.  Rusty graduated from Glen Oaks High School and later attended ITI Technical College where he received his Certification in Instrumentation.

He later moved to Florida where he developed his love for horses and also worked for various companies before eventually moving home to Louisiana where he was employed by B & D Plumbing for a number of years.

Rusty then went to work for BREC’s Farr Park Equestrian Center where his love for horses and knowledge of them served him well.

Rusty was a member of Amite Baptist Church.  His hobbies included riding and caring for his horses, Bay Lady and Domino.  He had a love for all of the horses under his care.  He also enjoyed going to the occasional car show.

He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father.  He is survived by his sister, Pamela Price Owen (husband Kevin); his Niece, Stephanie Owen Watts (husband Joshua); his Nephew, Matthew Kyle Owen (wife Callie); and two Great Nephews, Jaxon and Asa Watts.

Visitation will be held from 5pm to 9pm on 3/21/22 at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs, LA.  Visitation will continue on 3/22/22 from 9am – 11am and Funeral services will begin at 11:00am with Burial following Greenoaks Memorial Park in Baton Rouge, LA.

    Rusty was a kind friend to both horses and humans alike. He is greatly missed.

    Since the day I met Rusty he consistently showed his caring nature towards all my horses. At times I think he knew them more then I did but in any case I could ALWAYS depend on him to help us when one of our horses needed that “special attention” that I was unable to give at the time. I really miss his “saunter” through the barn but mostly miss his friendship.
