It is with great sadness that I let you know that last night we lost this mountain of a man.  He loved Aunt Lola Kay Dyess Desormeaux with all of his heart.  He wanted the best for her.  Even in his dying days, he never went to bed without saying “Thank you for taking such good care of me” and that she did.  I have never heard anyone more patient and kind while making sure he had oxygen or his favorite food or his meds.  I know she would go get him a frosty, shrimp po-boy or whatever his taste of the day required.

After Gary’s massive heart attack, I would call and even in his own illness and poor health he never ever failed to ask me first “How is Gary”.  He always said I am praying for him.  How he believed in the power of prayer.

Many times in MY times of crisis, Uncle Raymond would call all of his prayer lines and make a request and have them pray while HE prayed for me.

Uncle Raymond, you have fought the fight, you have finished the race… and I know without a doubt you have been welcomed in with “Enter in thy good and faithful servant”.   I have no doubt that Gran and Gramps met you and walked you down those beautiful streets of gold.

We love you.  Rest easy.  You have your reward that you lived for.  We miss you.
