William Travis Phillips, Jr.
October 23, 1956 – March 25, 2022
William “Bill” Phillips graduated from LSU with an MSW in social work in 1988. He was a clinical social worker for more than 30 years and specialized in the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Bill was also interested in Social Psychology and teaching Resilience Skills to children and adolescents. He worked or consulted in many different school systems throughout Louisiana. Bill was currently working as an Expert Witness in every court system in Louisiana and was collaborating on a trailblazing trauma-focused project that was to be a part of the Beat The Streets Non-Profit Organization. Bill also worked as a freelance journalist and his articles appeared in The Saint Bernard Voice, The Houma Courier, Cenla Focus, Cenla Parenting, and Offline magazine. He was also a member of the Arabi Wrecking Crew that helped restore homes in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. His big heart and intelligence will be sorely missed by his multitude of friends, patients, co-workers and his sister, Betsy Case of Everett Washington. Condolences may be offered at
