Barbara Mulkey Harris
January 10, 1940 – April 14, 2022
Barbara Mulkey Harris went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 14 at 11:18pm. She passed away after being hospitalized briefly from complications of a heart attack and stroke. Barbara was a native of Natalbany, LA born to Arthur Mulkey and Clara Mae Reeves Mulkey on January 10, 1940. After graduating from Hammond High School she met the love of her life, Donald Harris. Together they resided in Denham Springs, LA and had two children, Lori and Lisa. She was a longtime member of Grays Creek Baptist Church. Barbara was retired from being office manager for Dr. Joseph Mass in Denham Springs and previously working at the former Medical Center of Baton Rouge and Dixon Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with friends, and being with her children and grandchildren. Barbara is survived by two daughters and son in law, Lori Smith and Lisa and Heath Baker; grandchildren Cole Turner, Kaleigh Turner, Ethan Baker, Caleb Baker, and Cade Baker, and step grandchild Randall Smith; sisters Evelyn Sheeren and Delores Wagner (Carlton), and brother Joseph Mulkey (Darryl Lejeune). She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Donald Harris; parents Arthur Mulkey and Clara Mae Reeves Mulkey and son-in-law Michael Smith. Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on April 19, 2022 from 9 am – 11 am. A funeral service will be held at 11 am by Rev. Carl Sullivan with burial to follow at Felder’s Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ethan Baker, Cole Turner, Caleb Baker, Cade Baker, Randy Smith, and Payton Deane.
