Nathan Jesus Petit

February 15, 1993 ~ April 30, 2022

Our youngest son and brother Nathan Jesus Petit, 29, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2022. Nathan was born in Lafayette, Louisiana and was raised in Central, Louisiana where he was a graduate of Central High School. Our son was an extremely intelligent, beautiful gift from God. He loved his family immensely and was proud of his siblings, brother-in-law, sister in-laws and all of his nephews and nieces. One of the things he loved most was to connect with people and make them laugh. He enjoyed sitting and talking, and loved to explore the beauty of the world the creator gave to us.

Nathan spoke openly about his struggles with sin and depression. Nathan was ashamed of his sin and fought with it for many years. His only hope was in Christ alone. He had printed copies of Romans 7:21-8:17 that he kept near his nightstand and would remind himself of what war he was fighting in this world.

He also understood his unworthiness in the face of a perfect God.

Ephesians 2:8 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.”

Nathan is now at peace and his struggle with addiction is over. His parents take comfort in knowing that He has entered into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father.

Remember the bible says “this life is like a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.” Our wish to everyone who loved and knew Nathan is to make your “mist” count in this world.

Our prayer for each of you is that our Loving Father comfort each of you and give you “peace that transcends all understanding.”

He will be missed by his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his Paternal Step-Grandmother, Maria Elena Agel Petit “Mirna,” and Maternal Grandparents, Eugene Marinus Manning and Joan Stanier Manning. He is survived by his parents, Wilmer Ramon Petit and Elizabeth Manning Petit, six siblings, Wilmer Ramon Petit Jr.; spouse Kelli Kaiser Petit, Sandy Petit Duplessis; spouse Chase Duplessis, Jacob Antonio Petit; spouse Kristina Solar Petit, Benjamin Taylor Petit; spouse Katelyn DeMoura Petit, Joel Gabriel Petit, and Emily Alejandrina Petit, paternal grandparents Hermes Ramon Petit and Alejandrina Violetta Contreras and Julio Cesar Contreras, eighteen nephews and nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.

“A memorial service with bereavement to follow will be held Thursday May 5, 2022 from 5pm-7pm at Zoar Baptist Church, 11848 Hooper Rd, Baton Rouge, LA 70818.”
