Glenn Richard Sibley

Glenn Richard Sibley passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, following a battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. He was 79 years old. A native of Loranger, LA and 1960 graduate of Walker High School, he was a long-term resident of Livingston, LA.

Glenn married the love of his life, his sweetheart Rose, 61 years ago on June 10, 1961. They settled in Livingston, LA, and together raised four children and formed many beautiful, lasting friendships. He worked out of Millwright Local 720 for over 35 years and was a part-time deputy for the Town of Livingston during the early part of his career.

Glenn was a devoted father and an active member of the First Baptist Church of Livingston, where he loved to sing and serve the community. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed camping, going to garage sales, and any activity that kept his mind and hands busy. He loved spending time outdoors and was often seen riding around Livingston on his bicycle or golf cart and visiting with friends. Those who knew Glenn loved him.

Glenn is survived by wife, Rose Marie Harrell Sibley; his children Richard Todd Sibley (Jerri), Media “Dee Dee” Sibley, Eddie Glenn Sibley (Christie), and Daniel Eric Sibley (Tia); 10 grandchildren Brandon Sibley, Chase Penalber, Lee Shain Sibley, Devin Penalber, Bradley Sibley, Matthew Sibley, Dauton Sibley, Dakota Sibley, Damian Sibley, and Deakn Sibley; 5 great-grandchildren Kamryn Penalber, Logan Penalber, Joseph Sibley, Philip Stewart, and Mia Penalber; brother Ralph Sibley (Sandra) and sister-n-law Bonnie Sartwell Sibley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend P.W. and Lena Owens Sibley; brothers Pleasant Sibley and Howard “Red” Sibley; sister and brother-in-law Gloria and John Morel; and sister and brother-in-law Katherine and Doug Burhman.

Visitation will be at the First Baptist Church in Livingston on Friday, May 13, 2022, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Saturday, May 14, 2022, from 11:00 AM until funeral services at 3:00 PM. Interment will follow at the Sibley Cemetery on Cane Market Road in Walker, LA. Pallbearers are grandsons Brandon, Chase, Devin, Bradley, Matthew, Dauton, Dakota, and Damian. Grandson Deakn and great-grandsons Logan, Joseph, and Philip will serve as honorary pallbearers.
