Nancy Ellen Stephenson Brown

Nancy Ellen Stephenson Brown, a resident of Central, LA., passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at the age of 85. She was born in Bellevue, Ohio on September 20, 1936 to Robert G. Stephenson of Bellevue and Bertha Meyer Stephenson of Baltimore, Maryland. She taught kindergarten at Trinity Baptist School during the 1960’s and later retired as an insurance claims adjuster from Blue Cross. Over the years, Nancy served as a children’s Sunday School teacher and as a church secretary and treasurer. She often talked about her childhood in northern Ohio with her two older brothers, whom she adored, and later as an older teenager moving to southern Louisiana. She loved her grandkids and great-grand daughters and enjoyed attending their sporting events and special occasions. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. She is survived by two daughters; Vickie and her husband Walter Jenkins, Bonnie Brown, all of Central; a son, Randy Brown of Magnolia, TX; three grandchildren, Michael Jenkins of Central, Tim Jenkins and wife, Tracey of Denham Springs, and Lauren Brown of Austin, TX; and great granddaughters, Mckenzie Jenkins and Cheyenne Jenkins of Denham Springs; two brothers, Robert Stephenson, Jr. of Marblehead, Ohio and Jere Stephenson and Jane of Metropolis, Il.; a sister-in-law, Mary Virginia Causey of Baton Rouge; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clauis H. Brown. Visitation will be held at Comite Baptist Church on Friday, May 27, from 10:00 am until memorial services at 11:00 am officiated by Pastor Chase Permenter.
