Peggy Mashon Farmer

A mother’s love never ceases; and all who knew Peggy, knows she gave her love freely to people and animals alike. A true testament of love thy neighbor, Peggy M. Farmer passed away Wednesday morning, June 8, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 18, 1945 in Independence, LA, was a graduate of Independence High, class of 1963. Peggy started her career with South Central Bell in operator services in 1967, survived the split from AT&T in 1984, and retired from BellSouth in 2008 with 41 years of service.
Peggy is survived by her children and their spouses Sherry McDonald Dugas (Byron), Shay McDonald (Kellie), Cindy Addison Breaux (Ricky), David Davis (Elizabeth), Tommy Addison (Sharon), Grandchildren John (Jennifer) and Lane Schuler, Daytona McDonald Roberts (Jerry), Destiny McDonald Meekins (Paul), Delaynie McDonald, Marisa, Halley and Bubby Ramirez, Lee Wilkinson (Kenni), Sara Breaux Farwell (Trevor), Michael Breaux (Jennifer), Mark Breaux (Chantise), and Meagan Davis, Eleven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, too many nieces and nephews to count, and her fur baby Sidney Paul. She is also survived by her sister Carolyn Mashon Davis and brother-in-law David E. Burge, Sr.
She is preceded in death by her husband Dale Allen Farmer, parents Ross Mashon and Rosalie Major, sister Cindy Mashon Burge, son Timothy “Skipper” Addison, daughter-in-law Shantelle Slaughter McDonald, grandchildren Jamie, Aron, and Josh, and many beloved pets.
Pallbearers will be Lee, David, Jr., John, Lane, Rodney, and Michael.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022 from 5pm-8pm and Saturday June 11, 2022, from 9am-11am at Live Oak Baptist Church, 35603 Coxe Ave., Denham Springs, LA 70706.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Live Oak Baptist Church, with burial following at Twin Pines Cemetery, Holden, LA.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, charitable donations be made to your favorite animal rescue or charity.
