Charles David Cummins
Charles David Cummins, 65, of Denham Springs, LA, passed away Friday, April 22, 2022 at his home surrounded by family.
David was born in Mobile, Alabama on October 9, 1956. Growing up he was active in the Boy Scouts of America earning the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated from Baker High School in Mobile, Alabama and continued his education at the University of South Alabama earning a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.
David retired from Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical where heworked as a Chemical Engineer and Project Team Leader at theAlumina Refinery Plant located in Gramercy, Louisiana. He also worked as an Area Quality Superintendent at the Kaiser Bauxite Mining Facility, Kaiser Jamaica Bauxite Company, located in Discovery Bay, Jamaica. David was granted multiple U.S. Patents related to his work at Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical.
David is survived by his wife of 31 years, Marcella Gunther Cummins; daughter, Madison Taylor Cummins; and son, David Tyler Cummins (Jessica). He is preceded in death by his father,Charles Ralph Cummins; mother, June Bachar Cummins; and sister, Deborah Cummins Herzog.
The family would like to thank the team of nurses and health care providers at Bridgeway Hospice and his personal caregiver Glenda Hodges for their exceptional care, kindness, and support.
A memorial service will be held for family and close friends at a later date.
