Richard Arlen Cook

Richard Arlen Cook, 87, finally went home on Thursday, July 14, 2022 to be with the love of his life. Richard worked for the City Parish for over 25 years as a heavy equipment operator. A job he truly loved. Richard is survived by his daughter and son in law, Joy and Pat Callahan, a son and his fiancé, Darryl Cook and Misty Johnson, a brother and sister-in-law, Roy Gene and Barbara Cook, 3 grandchildren: Shela Callahan Crose, Hunter Cook and Amber Cook. 4 great grandchildren: Cadence Scott, Abel Crose, Skylar Giles and Jeremy Scherer. And many more nieces and nephews. Richard is also survived by his good friend of over 60 years and a favorite fishing buddy, Donald Kent. Richard was proceeded in death by his wife, Roxie Faye Ball Cook, his mother Edna B. Cook, his father Lafayette W. Cook, a sister Gladys Cook Celestin and 3 brothers, Warren, Donald and Melvin Cook. And a grandchild, Darryl W. Cook, Jr. A very special thank you to Misty for all the love and care of Richard during these last few years in his time of need. And a very special thank you to Brittany of Chase Home Health for the love and care for our family and going above and beyond in his care. A memorial service will be held at a later date to celebrate the life of Richard A. Cook.
