Happy Heavenly Birthday Liz, we miss you! Elizabeth, a native of Norwood LA, was born at Field Memorial Hospital in Centreville MS to Leroy Raymond and Diane Louise Daley Garig. In her teen year’s she was an untamable colt, a 1970’s wild child. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior later in life and changed into a Stallion for Jesus. She loved to talk about the Bible and called often to brag about a new discovery in the Word. She became a wonderful mom and dedicated Christian. A true animal lover, she adored horses competing in many rodeos. She was a loyal employee for M & D Quick Stop in Denham Springs for 20+ years. It gave her tremendous joy to serve her customers in thoughtful, kind, encouraging ways but sometimes giving a caring but firm rebuff.
She leaves behind her true treasure: daughters, Karey Thigpen, Brittany Barnett and son Nathan Barnett. The light of her eyes were five precious grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Most important, she left a loving brother Edwin Leroy Garig with a niece and two nephews. She also leaves a big extended family from Norwood of adoring cousins and many heart broke friends.
She now lives with her husband Robert Scott Barnett, her mom and dad, her baby brother Leroy Raymond Garig Jr and preemie sister Margo Lynn Garig. She walks with her beloved grandpa Edwin Rukins Garig and she is getting to know her grandma Anna Marie Carr. She is enjoying time with her maternal grandma, Eva Mary Rochleau/Rushlow.
