John Charles Maus

John Charles Maus, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend passed away on Friday September 30, 2022. He was 86 years old and a kind, compassionate soul to everyone he encountered. He was proud to serve his country in the Navy and faithfully followed Christ in the Catholic Church. He served his community for many years through his membership in the Knights of Columbus. His greatest joys in life included times spent with family and friends; going fishing, camping with Boy Scouts, and playing with his children, grandchildren, and his beloved dog. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Theonise “Tee” Maus, his brother Carl Maus, and his two sons Charles August Maus and William Joseph Maus. He is survived by his son John Jude Maus and wife Rebecca; daughter Judith Ella Marie Maus; seven grandchildren Chad, Amy, Chantelle, John, Christopher, William, and Nicholas; two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at St Patrick Catholic Church at 12424 Brogdon Lane in Baton Rouge on Wednesday October 12 from 9:30 am until Mass at 10:30, conducted by Father Michael Micheli. Burial will follow at Lake Lawn Metairie Cemetery 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 225 N. Michigan Ave, Floor 17, Chicago IL 60601 or the Tourette Association of America 4240 Bell Blvd Suite 205 Bayside NY 11361.
