Berna Gay LeBlanc Dickerson passed away on October 8, 2022 at her home in Pine Grove, at the age of 61, after a long and brave battle with cancer.
She was born in Baton Rouge, LA, and graduated from Denham Springs High School. There wasn’t anything that she couldn’t do. She built cabinets and furniture, cut hair, taught Sunday School, and led Vacation Bible School.
She was employed by Leaps and Bounds Sports Center in Denham Springs, and loved her after school care and camp kids there. She loved animals, especially her chocolate labs, and worked many years for Denham Springs Animal Hospital. She loved the beach and going fishing, but most of all she loved her two grandsons, Remington and Houston.
She is survived by her husband Kenneth Dickerson, her son Melvin Roe II, her daughter Katie Roe Sutton and son in law Lee Sutton, her grandsons Remington Sutton and Houston Sutton, her mother Mona Chanove Williams, her brother Johnny LeBlanc and sister in law Yvette, her sister Nancy Aguirre, her brother Danny LeBlanc and sister in law Brenda, her sister Cathy LeBlanc, her sister Christy Weick and brother in law Sean, her nieces and nephews Cherri Foster, Jennifer Tharpe, Jonathan LeBlanc, Willy Aguirre, Nickolas Aguirre, Oliver Aguirre, Kelly Lopez, Tiffany Young, Holly North, Daniel Summers, Reba Gill, and Patrick Weick.
She is preceded in death by her father Arthur J. LeBlanc, her grandparents George and Zelica Chanove, her step father John Williams, her nephew Justin Summers, and her brother in law Willy Aguirre Sr.
Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 form 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Visitation on Wednesday will resume at 9:00am. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Montpelier Cemetery, Montpelier, LA.
