Violet Sue Lotz Suchman

October 12, 2022 at 7:03pm, Mom was healed in the way only her Lord can heal. She is resting at the feet of Jesus and reunited with her husband, 5 children, parents and sisters. I can hear her now, sitting down at the piano beginning to play for Christ as she did from the early age of 8 until she passed. She was a devoted wife, mother, grand and great-grandmother, sister and “nuther mother’ to so many. She always thought she loved too hard and too much, but that’s what she was best at. She served her Lord as a church pianist and organist for decades and served in her church as pastoral secretary for almost every church she attended as well. Beyond her church work, she shared her gift with teaching piano and organ, with the accomplishment of one student now playing the organ for the St. Louis Cardinals and another student and accompanists who plays all over the world through the Peabody Conservatory. She raised her family while dad was on the road many days and nights and raised them all to love God and serve Him where He called them.

Sue is survived by her daughter, Cydnee Denney and husband, Steve; son,  Bobby Suchman and husband, Jimmy Boudreaux; grandchildren, Austin Combest and wife, Felicia, Aristan Combest and wife, Kayleigh, Alex Combest and wife, Audrianna, and Aeden Combest; her great-grandbabies, Alayna, Kailer, Crew, Kinsley, and Hayes, and #6 who will join us in April and she will meet one day; sister, Mary Robinson and husband, Floyd, brother-in-law, Mike Fitzgerald and wife, Debbie; her brothers-in-law and sisters in-law that were her dear family, Pat and Mac McBride, Judy and Jack Gray, Margie Beckmann, Lester and Maryann Suchman, and Brenda and Brian Owen and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded into eternity by her husband of 57 years, Melvin B. Suchman; 5 children that entered Heaven before they could enter her arms; her parents, Robert “Jim” and Alice Jones Lotz; and sisters, Margaret Dorris, Roberta Rainey, and Sarah “Georgie” Fitzgerald; parents-in-law, Elmer Bernard and Ida Mae Trousdale Suchman. Her family will honor her with a celebration of her life and reception at her favorite getaway, JimBob Manor, at a later date. Please share your condolences at  or through Facebook.

A special thank you to the staff of St. Clare Manor for their years of care, Laquita “Moosie” Jyles, and the staff of Clarity Hospice, with extra thank you to Chad Truxillo…another ’nuther kid’. You have made mom’s last years better than we ever imagined! In honor of her, please enjoy your favorite piano hymns and love your family and please take care of yourself, so that you can be here to take care of others.
