Olive Elise Mullins Campbell

Olive Elise Mullins Campbell (“Boots”) died October 17, 2022 at Williamsburg Senior Living Facility in Baton Rouge, LA. She was born on May 30, 1930 at Doyle, LA (now called Livingston). She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church for more than 60 years. She graduated from Central High School in 1947 and retired from Goudchaux’s Department Store Credit Office. Olive loved cooking for friends, neighbors, and family. She loved to fish and was a die-hard fan of LSU baseball. She was always writing and wrote several articles about events and growing up in Central for Central City News. The articles she was most proud of were “Growing up and Growing Old in Central” and “Christmas Then and Now.” The latter was a tribute to her mother, Vada Mullins, who worked so hard to raise 6 children alone. Olive is survived by a son, Thomas G. Campbell and his wife Bobbie Campbell; granddaughter, Emily Campbell and her husband Victor P. Erwin; her sister Vera M. Ellis and her husband George Ellis; her brother Thomas M. Mullins, Jr. and his wife Paula Mullins. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Cecil Campbell; parents Thomas M. Mullins, Sr. and Vada Davison Mullins; her brother John G. Mullins; Elliot Hutchison and his wife DeLois Hutchison; a sister Dorothy M. McManus and her husband Archie I. McManus, Sr.; her sister Thadys Love; her beloved great nephew Jonathan Love; and her cousin Martha Crowson. Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs, LA on October 22, 2022 from 9:00AM – 11:00AM. Service will be held from 11:00AM – 12:00PM. Burial will take place following the service at Bethel United Methodist Cemetery in Pride, LA. Pallbearers are Richard M. Love, Victor P. Erwin, Kyle Ellis, Zachary Vicari, Jeff Couvillion, and Dale LeBlanc. Her parting words to her family are, “love each other as I have loved you.” In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
