Sadie Bruce Nelson

Sadie Bruce Nelson, 75, passed away at her home in Zachary, LA, on Tuesday, October 18, 2022.  Born on August 11, 1947 in Oakdale, LA.  She was a resident of Greenwell Springs (Central) for 35 years.  She retired from Bellsouth (AT&T).  She loved her family dearly and cherished all time spent with family and friends.  She enjoyed entertaining at her home and Friday nights out to eat with her husband, Buzz, children, grandchildren, friends and other family.  She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Verla Bruce, and siblings, John Bruce and Robert Bruce and BIL’s John Blackburn, Dr. Douglas Greve, and Theodore Demuro.  She is survived by her husband of 36 years, John “Buzz” Nelson, her children Paul Smith (Kimberley), Bruce Smith (Michelle), Marilyn Rogers (Keith), Danielle Pearson (Ben), Stefanie Nelson, and siblings George Bruce, Jr., Carol Greve, and Katherine Blackburn and SIL’s and BIL’s Marlyn Nelson, Martha Davis (Ray-Ray), and David Nelson and also, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.  A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022 at St. Andrews Untied Methodist Church, 17510 Monitor Ave., Baton Rouge beginning at 10:00am.
