Janet Kemp
Janet Cowart Kemp, 81, of Denham Springs, LA, passed away peacefully the morning of Monday, October 24, 2022. Janet was a devoted wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and friend. Janet was born in Sherberne, LA and married Alfred Kemp October 4, 1958, in Alexandria, VA. She traveled alongside her husband with the Army, near and far, creating lasting memories while enjoying life in different states and countries. Janet had a passion for crafts and passed on that talent and abilities to others. The handmade, matching outfits for the grandkids and Christmas ornaments she made each year will be cherished forever. Camping with family and friends were the highlight of many summers as they visited places coast-to-coast hiking, exploring caves, and enjoying bluegrass festivals. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
She is survived by her sisters, Erma Vanlandingham (Bill), Barbara Templet (Walter), Judy Davis (Charles); brother Leonard Cowart (Fran); daughters, Barbara Dugan (Ed), Janet Benton (Glen), and Donna Bernard (Mark);
grandchildren, Estefany Conrad (JD), Joe Olivares (Beth), Victoria Whitehurst (Daniel), Jennifer (Bryan), Lauren Bernard, and Gaby Olivares; great-grandchildren, Victor, Brooklin, Carson, Elise, Addilyn, Remy, Baby Bernard; great-great grandchildren Evie and Dawson as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and James Cowart, husband Alfred Kemp, and grandson Nicholas Bernard.
A visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, LA on Saturday, October 29, at 9 a.m. with services beginning at 10 a.m. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Louisiana National Cemetery in Zachary, LA at a later date
