Derrick Russell Macaluso

Derrick “Tank” Russell Macaluso, 34, a resident of Walker, Louisiana, owner of Extra Design Labs, entrepreneur, and musician passed away unexpectedly Monday, October 31st, 2022, at his home in Walker.
Derrick was born on March 23rd, 1988, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Emile (Dago) and Cynthia (Cindy) Macaluso. He had a passion for graphic design, and with that he started his own business, Extra Design Labs. While that was his professional interest, his true love was music. He was a natural and loved every aspect of that life. Whether he was on the stage or in a living room, he controlled the scene. His personality was larger than life. He could light up any room with his sparkling blue eyes and beautiful smile. He was a master showman and wanted nothing more than to ensure that everyone was having as good of a time as he was.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Derrick had a love for motorcycles and music. He often played guitar alongside his dad and they spent many hours riding together.
Derrick also had a strong love for animals. He adored all of his furbabies: Bentley, Titan, Emmi, and Mondo. Derrick and Titan were an inseparable pair.
From a young age, Derrick loved basketball. Whether it was on or off the court, his passion for the game never changed.
Derrick is preceded in death by his father, Emile (Dago) Macaluso, his Uncle Angelo Macaluso, and his Uncle’s Lonnie, Bobby, and Kenny Morris.
Derrick is survived by his mother Cynthia (Cindy) Macaluso; his brother Jeremy Morris and wife Robyn; his two nieces, Danielle and Haley, and nephew Garrett; his Maw-Maw, Charlene Morris, and Paw-Paw Pete; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A memorial for Derrick will be held on Sunday, November 6th, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs. Services will begin at 4:00 p.m. conducted by Reverend Herman Holland and Reverend Keith McAllister.
