Robert Dale Smith
Robert Dale Smith passed into eternal life on November 9th , 2022 surrounded by his loving and devoted wife, Julie Schroer Smith, family and many friends, after a courageous 9-month battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on August 7, 1964, in New Orleans, LA to Everett Smith (Sherry) and Olga Spreen Smith (who preceded him in death) and his adoring Sister, Donna Smith Adams (Peter). He Graduated from Archbishop Shaw High School in 1983 and later Louisiana Tech University where he was a member of the football and powerlifting teams. Robert had an abundance of close family and a wealth of true friends. His absolute greatest joy was the love and pride that he had in his 3 children, Catherine Smith Morse (Evan), Becca “Boo” Smith and Christopher Smith. Robert was always the life of every party and will always be remembered for his incredible sense of humor, zero inhibitions, and the talent and knowledge to fix anything mechanical. He loved repairing vintage trucks and used his immense talents to own and operate Preferred Home Renovations. Along with his many skill sets, he was also a professional pilot for 12 years and had a total of 8,000 hours in flight time. Robert had many gifts and loved to help anyone in need and always enjoyed hosting large parties especially the numerous crawfish boils that he would host in his dream barn on his property in Denham Springs. His extended family includes Stepdaughter Katelynn Henschen Mcdougall (Evan), “Uncle” Ernie Spreen, “Auntie” Pat Spreen, cousins Ernie, Brian and Aubrey Spreen, niece Oliva and nephew Alister. His light will forever shine, and he will never be forgotten by all who knew him and loved him. Services will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Saturday November 12, 2022 from 1:00 PM-4:00 PM with a service at 4:00 PM followed by a Robert style gathering at his home in Denham Springs. Speakers will be his children, Ernie Spreen, Jimmy Hintz, Sean Hintz, Dana Rushing and Michael Coleman.
