Jack Joseph Scimeca, 78, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana passed away Tuesday November 29, 2022.  He was a a graduate of Istrouma High school and attended Louisiana State University.  He was  a retired Civil Structural and Architectual Designer.  He was preceeded in death by his parents, Frank and Helen Scimeca and a brother, Frank E. Scimeca.  He is survived by a strong and loving wife, Judy W. Scimeca , daughter and son-in law Doren and Kevin Harrell, daughter and son-in-law Daneen and Grant Witty, sister Deborah S. Pellerin, grandchildren, Brooklyn Witty Arceneaux and Beau Witty.  He loved his family and friends and especially enjoyed when everyone would  gather together where he would hold court for any and all that would listen. Telling his jokes and teasing were his speciality as he loved to see everyone smiling and laughing.  Never a dull moment around him. Jack loved boating and whenever possible could be found on the water with family and friends. He loved watching Westerns and listening to music. He would always ask us who a certain actor was or if we could name that tune. Jack was a man of integrity and had many talents. We all have trademark drawings of our houses framed and put on our walls professionally drawn by him. He was very proud of his family and talked about all of us to all who would listen. Finally, last but not least, Jack was a man of God. His knowledge of  the Lord and scripture was impressive and leaves no doubt about his final resting place.

In lieu of flowers, Jack’s wish was for people to donate to a charity of their choice. Family and close friends will gather after the first of the new year at his home to celebrate his life, eat good food and tell Jack Joseph Stories.

You will be missed uncle Jack. Never got a chance to take you flying, but you are at a much higher flight level now. You left an amazing family behind. As men, that’s the most we can strive to accomplish. You gave everyone around you a smile and a laugh. You will be talked about and remembered for year to come.
