Andrea T. Savoie
ANDREA TURNAGE SAVOIE
January 4, 1965 – December 6, 2022
Andrea Turnage Savoie, 57, of Holden, entered her Heavenly address surrounded by family on December 6, 2022. Andrea had a love for Jesus, His Word, and enjoyed worshiping the Lord. During her last day, as a family, we were honored to have a special time of worship with her. The presence of the Lord filled the room.
Andrea was born on January 4, 1965, in Hammond, Louisiana, to Richard and Carol Turnage. Growing up in Shreveport, LA, Andrea gave her heart to the Lord as a teenager and pursued Him wholeheartedly. She was loved by all her friends, active in her youth group, and cherished lifelong friendships. She graduated from Southwood High School in 1983.
In 1988, Andrea graduated summa cum laude from Southeastern Louisiana University in Elementary Education for grades first through eighth. She was an extraordinary teacher and truly loved her work.
On October 10, 1992, Andrea married Marcel L. Savoie Jr. He had three daughters: Meredith Godoi, Monica Grimes, and Melanie Chinchilla. Andrea was excited when she was able to watch the grandkids cheer, play soccer, volleyball, and baseball. Andrea and Marcel enjoyed traveling, dancing, and spending time with family.
She is survived by the family she loved dearly: her parents, Richard and Carol Turnage; her sister, Karin Turnage Bush, and brother-in-love, Michael Bush; sister, Jennifer McRight, and brother-in-love, Damian McRight. Andrea adored her nieces, Michelle Hills (Dylan) and Gabrielle Bush, and nephews, Jonathan Bush, Shawn McRight, and Joshua Bush, and two great-nephews, Braxton and Harper Hills.
Andrea was reunited with her loved ones in Heaven. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcel L. Savoie, Jr., and grandparents, Richard William and Ruby Moon Turnage and John and Elizabeth Zoller Yuhasz.
Andrea enjoyed making crafts and playing games with her great-nephews, Braxton and Harper, and was looking forward to the new baby Hills’. She was truly the happiest and most fulfilled spending time with family. Andrea’s heart was full when she worshiped as Michael, Michelle, or Gabrielle were leading worship. She was excited watching Joshua play baseball, hearing Shawn play the piano, and listening to Jonathan talk about the Word. Andrea’s eyes lit up talking about her sisters, her nieces, and nephews. She valued each of them as precious jewels.
Andrea was such a caring person, even with all the challenges through the years, she was always concerned about others and how they were doing. Andrea was selfless and very generous with her time and finances. If there was a need she could meet, she did not hesitate. She “Loved Big” and always made those around her feel special, even in the middle of a crowded room. In the Kingdom of Heaven, Andrea has no more hindrances, sickness, or paralysis. Andrea is free to dance and worship the Lord. We are so thrilled for her.
