Ivy Allen Hidalgo, 81, Denham Springs, Louisiana, passed away, Sunday, December 25, 2022 at his home.
Ivy’s family invites you to join them to celebrate his beautiful life at a Catholic Mass, Friday January 6, 2023 with visitation at 10:00 AM followed by mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St Alphonsus Ligouri Catholic Church on Greenwell Springs Road in Central, La. Reception to follow at the Church.
Ivy was born March 9, 1941, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Ivy Allen Thompson and Rosemary Hidalgo.
He graduated from Istrouma High School and received an Associate Degree from ITI Technical College.
On July 21,1962, he married Linda Ann Cain Hidalgo, the love of his life, at a Nuptial Mass at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Baton Rouge. Prior to their marriage, they committed their eternal love for one another in a Solemn Engagement ceremony also at Sacred Heart. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2022. Ivy was a member of the Asbestos Workers Local #53 and the Knights of Colombus Council # 2807 and retired from the City of Baton Rouge – Parish of East Baton Rouge. He loved fishing and absolutely adored spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Ivy is survived by his wife, Linda Ann Cain Hidalgo of Denham Springs, Louisiana, daughter, Karolyn Denise Hidalgo Watts of Denham Springs, Louisiana, son, Kerry David Hidalgo (Melissa) of Denham Springs, Louisiana, grandchildren, Dustin Alan Watts, Megan Leigh Watts (Chase), Bailey Elise Hidalgo Pierce (Jacob), Tucker Ivy Hidalgo and Avery Makenna Sylvia, great-grandchildren, Kennedy Louise Watts, Chase Edward Wascom, Jr. and Lincoln Cole Wascom.
He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Allen Hidalgo, his grandson, Remy Kevin Hidalgo, his parents, Ivy Allen Thompson and Rosemary Hidalgo and his adoptive parents, Norman Joseph Hidalgo and Rose LeBlanc Hidalgo. Please sign the online guestbook at www.sealefuneral.com

Sending healing prayers and comforting hugs to you and your family. Ivy was such a nice gentleman. He will be missed, but know he lives in your heart forever. If you need someone to listen or a shoulder to cry on, I’m here for you.

Mr Ivy u were a great person n friend..
I really missed u wen I had to leave the BBQ.. I hope u get to eat Great burgers in your new palace.. u were loved by many including me..I will miss u n will get to see u again one day..
