Donald ‘Donnie’ Raymond Johnson passed away peacefully after a very short fight with cancer at Our Lady of the Lake surrounded by his family on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at the age of 70. He was born to Frank Johnson and Dorothy Johnson on March 30, 1952 in Indianola, Mississippi, and was a resident of Baker. He was a member of Journey Church for many years. Donnie is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 17 years, Betty Cormier Johnson; daughter, Dawn Michelle Johnson, and son, Dustin Smith Johnson (Ashley); granddaughter, Ivy Johnson; brother, Frank ‘Hank’ Johnson (Judy); nephew, Wade Johnson (Samantha), niece, Tina Devall (Page), step-children, Candy Brown (Roger), Amy Albright (Timmy) and Shane Ducote (Dawn), a host of other family members and numerous grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and sister. He will be missed by many, especially by his dogs, Beau and BooBoo. A memorial service will be held at Journey Church, 17407 Greenwell Springs Road, Central, LA, on Thursday, January 5, 2023. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and service will be at 12:30 p.m. Pastor Jay Coleman will be officiating. A special thanks to Dr. Nicholas Leblanc and Dr. Vincent Cataldo and their staff.
